so i’ve been up in iwate prefecture twice, in june this year. four days for assistant work, and another four days for some work for my professor from the university that i went to until this march. assistant work, educational as usual. there’s no such learning process of photography better than assisting a true documentary photographer when he’s working. everything that i experience and encounter is a lesson for a guy like me. his move, his way of looking at things(which i think that is the eye of photography and the most important part for photography when it comes to judging a good photo), his way of taking photographs, portraits, etc…i’m really glad that i’m working for a true professional person.
anyway, this post is about a different story.
what i encountered on my way back to tokyo, after the professor’s work, turned out really interesting. for this job, i wasn’t alone the whole time. of course my professor was there but i was also with a beautiful girl. she was a year younger than me, and she was in the same professor’s education group as me when i was a univ student. and it was kind of like the first time we met when we met in iwate. the professor came to iwate the day after we both made it there so we had our time for ourselves… ok, that’s too much of talking isn’t it?
let’s go to the photos now.
these photos were taken when me and the girl were heading back to tokyo.
that day, the weather condition was really awful, that a lightning bolt hit an electric power line somewhere around oomiya station so our train had to stop in fukushima. yeah, the nuke plant was somewhere near(not in the 100km radius area though, i hope…). but i thought it would be interesting to take photos of the people, how they react when they stop at a place like such, also with the heavy rain. so these photos are the documents.
this is that beautiful girl, her name is maki. i think she didn’t notice me here.
this was pretty interesting to see, she was looking at a black and white portrait shot of herself? or someone.
some people looking at porn magazines.
someone looks grumpy.
but true, everybody was too tired, that i was the only one who was having fun with my leica at the moment.
