Portrait of Sakie Yokota, mother of Megumi Yokota who was abducted by North Korea in 1977 when Megumi was 13 years old. She claimed that there’s nothing she can do but to pray. She understands that the abduction issue has been utilized by the politicians for so long and therefore, she doesn’t have any trust in the politicians.
I’ve never felt this deep sorrow and powerlessness before in my life after taking her picture. The resolution of the abduction matter is nowhere near the victims hands.
